Thomas Place is a new subdivision in Broadway, NC. Broadway is a small community of just over 1,000 that is about 8 miles southeast of Sanford and near the Coty plant. Broadway is a quiet community that prides itself as “Mayberry Incarnate“. Thomas Place is near the heart of Broadway, just down the street from the caution light, post office, and town hall.Thomas Place is a relatively small development with about 30 lots ranging from 1/3 of an acre to over an acre. The first homes were built in 2000 and lots are still available. A range of different homes have been built from modest ranch style homes to larger cape cod and two story homes. Some lots are flat with crawlspace foundations and others are sloped with daylight basements.Between January 2005 and January 2007, eight homes sold in Thomas Place. Edgewater Estates is a subdivision in Broadway, NC. It has homes built around a 10 acre lake. Broadway is a small community of just over 1,000 that is about 8 miles southeast of Sanford.Broadway is a quiet community that prides itself as “Mayberry Incarnate“. Edgewater Estates is on the West side of Broadway, making it convenient to Sanford and the Coty manufacturing facility. When the next sections of the US 421 bypass open later this year, this area will also be very convenient to Raleigh and the Triangle region.Edgewater Estates was developed in the late 1960s and most of the homes were built during the 1970s and early 1980s. The lots are generously sized and average over 1/2 acre. Houses encompass a range of different styles including ranch, two story, cape cod, and contemporary styles. The range of prices for homes sold from February 2005 to February 2007 was $143,000 to $217,000 with an average of $180,000. Nottingham is a subdivision in Northern Sanford, NC. Nottingham is located between US 1 and Hawkins Avenue, making it convenient to both Sanford and Raleigh. The Lee County Industrial Park, with local employers Wyeth and Caterpillar, is less than 3 miles away. Bullock Elementary school is within 2 miles, and Nottingham is also located near several local shopping centers.The first homes in Nottingham were built in 2004 and new homes continue to be built by several popular local builders. There are currently about 80 homes in the subdivision and enough lots to build approximately 80 more homes. From January 2005 to January 2007, 34 homes were sold in Nottingham. Lee County Schools Back to School Open Houses

It is hard to believe but summer has flown by here in Lee County and it is almost time to start back for another school year. Schools on the traditional calendar (all schools except Tramway Elementary and Lee Early College) start back on Monday August 27th. Most schools are holding open houses for new and returning students this week and next week to allow students and parents to meet with new teachers and get ready for another exciting school year.
