Broadway NC

Broadway is a small community in Lee County North Carolina. It has a population of just over 1,000 and prides itself as “Mayberry Incarnate”, and a visit to Broadway can seem a bit like a step back in time. Broadway NC Town Hall
Broadway is located about 8 miles Southeast of Sanford along the border between Lee and Harnett Counties. The Broadway area was first settled in the late 1800s to harvest turpentine from the surrounding pine forests. The town was named for a broad clearing in the surrounding pine forests. Farming later became the main occupation, and farming continues in the area to the present day. Broadway was officially incorporated in 1907, and celebrates its 100th anniversary this year! Broadway is growing by attracting those who seek a quiet, friendly place to call home.

Broadway NC Shopping Broadway has a Piggly Wiggly grocery store, a hardware store, a bank, restaurants, dentist, doctor, and a wide variety of other businesses. These businesses serve not only the 1,000 citizens within the city limits but the greater community as well.
Broadway is home to the NC Veterans’ Memorial. This memorial is beautifully done and is a great place to visit. There are plaques dedicated to the many wars fought to protect the freedoms we enjoy in America. A nice place to spend some quite time reflecting. Broadway NC Veterans Memorial

    Stephanie,

Broadway is a great small town. My favorite part is they have NO red lights! It really is a bit like Mayberry here in Central North Carolina.

I moved close to Broadway a few years ago. When I first visited the local grocery store, Piggly Wiggly, I was amazed how friendly and accommodating everyone there was. I noticed this was typical of the people of Broadway everywhere. It is a wonderful place to raise your children. The school is great, I am very happy my son is going. Broadway is about good values.
